Company History and Background
Founded: 2009
Our Story Pandora Bell, a 1930’s Girl… Think of childhood moments in the local sweetshop. Making the best choices with our copper coins. Now we are adults and the world has opened up for us, and the finest sweets in Europe can be at our table. Pandora Bell was a mysterious girl from the Georgian City of Limerick, gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way. She was elegant and restrained, yet inside, there simmered an impulsive romantic. The essence of Limerick city is Irish yet it is also Classical and European. This European heritage and Pandora’s love of food, art and literature was absorbed from her surroundings and fuelled her character and her dreams. We meet Pandora Bell in the 1930’s. She has travelled the length and breath of Ireland and has taken the Grand Tour of Europe on a steam train. She was remarkable for a girl of her time, and though solitary she found company and inspiration in the people she met along the way. She experienced the top chocolate houses of Europe, the patisseries of France and the culinary schools of Italy. Secret recipes were gained from Historic Sweet makers of Ireland. Every detail and sensation from Pandora Bell’s journey was chronicled in her diary as she travelled. This diary was discovered by Nicole years later in her Father’s Antique Shop in Limerick City and the next generation reignited her vision and brought the Pandora Bell dream of Fine Food Confectionery to life. Pandora Bell’s diary, her dreams and her discoveries around Europe are recreated, packed up and sent worldwide now by Pandora Bell Ireland.
